Our Mission

At Berkwood Research, our mission is to empower organizations by translating rigorous scientific evidence into actionable insights and strategic clarity.

We combine robust scientific analysis with strategic storytelling to bridge the gap between complex data and informed decision-making, enabling our partners to navigate scientific complexity with confidence and clarity.

Our Vision

To be a premier partner for organizations navigating the intersection of science and strategy, recognized for turning complex scientific insights into powerful, practical strategies. We aim to foster a world where scientific clarity drives purposeful innovation, sustainable growth, and impactful decision-making.

Meet the Team

Emerson tells us to “Live life with Enthusiasm,” and at Berkwood Research, we believe the strength of any venture lies in the energy and expertise of the individuals behind it.

  • Founder, Research Lead

“He systematized, but above all he assembled.” - Alfred North Whitehead

This philosophy embodies the unique value Dr. Robert Bergia brings to complex scientific challenges. As a translational health scientist and strategic advisor, Dr. Bergia uniquely bridges rigorous scientific research with practical business solutions. With a dual-title PhD in Nutrition Science & Gerontology from Purdue University, an MBA from Boston University, and extensive experience across academia and industry, Robert brings exceptional depth, precision, and strategic perspective to interpreting complex health-related science.

In today's data-rich landscape, abundant information often leads to competing interpretations and confusion. Rigorous, systematic analysis alone is insufficient. True impact emerges from skillful synthesis.

Robert excels in distilling vast amounts of scientific information and strategically assembling insights into coherent, compelling narratives tailored to diverse stakeholders. His distinctive storytelling ability transforms intricate scientific evidence into clear, actionable strategies, driving informed decisions and tangible business outcomes.

At Berkwood Research, Robert leverages his distinctive combination of analytical rigor and narrative clarity, serving as a trusted partner to organizations aiming not merely to interpret complex scientific evidence, but to strategically apply it in navigating nutrition science, health innovation, and evidence-based decision-making in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

  • Lead Evidence Analyst

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit" - Aristotle

Ethan Braun is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with extensive research experience at Purdue University and founder of Braun Scientific LLC. He specializes in evidence appraisal and interpretation, routinely distinguishing meaningful signals from statistical noise.

At Berkwood Research, Ethan is both an analyst and a thought partner. He stress-tests methods, grades strength of evidence, and brings clarity to dense literature all while excelling as Robert’s sounding board to ensure the direction matches the comparative evidence. Most importantly, Ethan brings his clinical background to bear in navigating often-abstract research findings to ensure that conclusions and recommendations are grounded in real-world applicability.

  • Lead Research Scientist

“Read not to contradict and confute… but to weigh and consider.” - Francis Bacon

Dr. Christian Wright is a clinical and translational scientist who brings uncommon breadth across clinical research, preclinical modeling, and modern data science—helping teams move from "interesting results" to decisions they can defend. Christian holds a PhD in Nutrition Science from Purdue University and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Biomechanics from Indiana University, where he explored cardio-metabolic and musculoskeletal health through a multiomics approach, investigating nutrient-tissue and mechanical interactions at the molecular, cellular, and systems levels. With 13+ years of experience spanning human interventions, transgenic models, and multi-omics analysis, Christian has the distinctive ability to see the architecture within complex biological data; not just individual findings, but how they fit together. Christian's strength lies in synthesis. In today's crowded evidence landscape, the challenge isn't finding studies—it's determining what's reliable, what's actionable, and what's overinterpreted. Christian excels at connecting the dots across multiple disciplines: stress-testing methods, integrating mechanistic and clinical endpoints, navigating regulatory-grade documentation, and translating complex findings into clear, traceable stakeholder-ready narratives that hold up under scrutiny.

At Berkwood Research, Christian leads systematic evidence synthesis and serves as the team's framework architect—the person who ensures that the scaffolding beneath a conclusion is as sound as the conclusion itself. His systems-level perspective and omics training complement the team's existing strengths in evidence appraisal and strategic synthesis, adding a layer of analytical depth that strengthens every project he touches.
